Whiter Teeth in One Hour!
Just about everyone wishes they had whiter teeth. Fortunately there is an easy way to make your smile more dazzlingly white: Zoom!® bleaching. Almost anyone can benefit from one-hour teeth whitening, and bleaching is ideal for patients who have healthy but discolored teeth.
The Zoom! Whitening System is a revolutionary cosmetic procedure. It's safe, effective and lightning-fast. In just over an hour your teeth will be dramatically whiter. Zoom! Whitening is ideal for anyone looking for immediate results. The convenience of Zoom! in comparison to the gradual whitening of wearing trays makes it the perfect choice for the busy individual.
The Zoom! Whitening procedure was developed by the professionals at Discus Dental, and is simple and usually painless*. It begins with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums. Dr. Calleros then applies the proprietary Zoom! Whitening Gel, which is activated by a specially designed light. Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more. A five-minute fluoride treatment completes the procedure. You'll be amazed with the results. In most cases, teeth get even whiter the first few days after the procedure!
We can whiten all of the teeth that show when you smile in a single office visit. Depending on your individual shade and level of staining, these light activated teeth whitening treatments take between thirty and sixty minutes. Zoom typically whitens teeth about 8 shades, and is more effective on yellow stains than on grey stains.
*Note
One hour whitening may cause temporary mild to moderate pain during and after the procedure (up to 24 hours). Some patients may need to take an analgeisic like advil the evening of the procedure. Bleaching will not change the shade of existing bonding, veneers or crowns. These can be redone after bleaching, so as to match your new, whiter teeth.

The Teeth Whitening Process Really Works!
Although teeth seem very hard, their enamel has microscopic pores that discolor over time due to age, smoking, and from staining food and drink. In some cases, enamel discoloration occurs during early tooth formation from antibiotic and fluoride consumption. The Zoom! gel is a scientifically formulated, pH balanced Hydrogen Peroxide that, when activated by the Zoom! light, gently penetrates the teeth to remove deep stains and discoloration. With proper care and an occasional touch-up at home, your whiter smile will sparkle for years.
Most over-the-counter products such as 'whitening' toothpastes and gels are minimally effective because they contain a low percentage of carbamide peroxide, and are not used in a concentrated form directly on the teeth.
We can determine which technique will best suit your individual whitening needs. Although your teeth will not go back to their "pre-bleaching shade," you may get some staining over time after the procedure is done depending upon your habits. We often recommend that you have a bleaching appliance (tray) made after six months so that you can touch up your bleaching, or brighten your smile before a special event, like a wedding or important interview.

Bleaching (Trays)
Home bleaching is done by the patient, wearing custom-made trays made by the dentist. It takes from 1 to 4 weeks and the trays should be worn from 30 minutes to 2 hours per day.
